My Writing

My Writing

I have wanted to be a writer for many, many years but it requires a discipline and a commitment to sitting in front of a computer screen that I cannot muster. Every now and then I have a moment of inspiration and I sit down and write, but it’s been a few years now since I have felt the muses stir within. I write a diary most evenings, but even that has trailed off over the last year of the dreaded lockdown. There’s little you can say when little happens in your day to day life, and contaminating my diary with the anger I have felt about the political state of our country isn’t on the cards.

I have, though, written my first novel (Edwin’s Ghost) which I eventually finished back in 2019 after starting it a fair few years ago and I have another one on the back burner. In fact I have countless stories in my head, but time is never on my side to write them and, as I said, it requires a commitment that I haven’t got. There are too many other pressing things in my life that need my attention. Maybe one day…
